Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use letteradesigns.com or buy a portrait from us. By placing an order, you agree to them.
What we sell
Lettera sells digital files. You upload a photograph and choose the text; our software composes a portrait rendered entirely from those words; you receive the finished file as a download. Nothing physical is shipped.
Two tiers are offered:
- High-Resolution PNG — a single high-resolution raster image suitable for screen use and standard printing.
- Ultra HD Vector (SVG + PNG) — a scalable vector file plus the PNG, suitable for printing at any size without loss of quality.
The photograph you upload
You are responsible for the image you use. By uploading a photograph you confirm that:
- You own it, or you have permission from the copyright holder to use it this way.
- Anyone recognisably depicted in it has consented, where consent is required.
- It is not unlawful, and does not infringe anyone's rights.
Because the image is processed in your browser and never reaches our servers, we cannot review uploads. Responsibility for the source photograph rests with you.
What you may do with your portrait
Once you have paid, you receive a personal-use licence. You may:
- Print it, as many times as you like, at any size, for yourself or as a gift.
- Display it in your home or share it on social media.
- Keep the file indefinitely.
You may not resell, redistribute, or license the file itself, or use it in a commercial product for sale, without our written permission. If you want a commercial licence, just ask — we are reasonable about it.
What we retain
Lettera retains all rights in the software, typography, rendering process, and site design. Buying a portrait licenses the output; it does not transfer any rights in the tools that made it.
Delivery
Your file is unlocked and downloaded immediately after payment is confirmed. If a download fails, or you lose the file, email us and we will help — see our Refunds & Delivery policy.
Pricing and payment
Prices are in US dollars and shown before checkout. Payment is processed by Stripe. We may change prices at any time, but never for an order already placed.
Depending on where you live, sales tax or VAT may be added at checkout.
Acceptable use
Don't use Lettera to create material that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, or that infringes someone else's rights. Don't attempt to circumvent payment, reverse-engineer the rendering process, or scrape the site. We may decline or cancel any order, refunding it in full.
Warranty and liability
Lettera is provided "as is". We work hard to make the site reliable and the output beautiful, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that a given photograph will produce a result you love. Photographs vary enormously in how well they render as text; the live preview exists so you can judge before paying.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to Lettera is limited to the amount you paid for the order in question. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published here at the time of your order, and the date at the top will tell you when it last changed.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [YOUR STATE], United States, and any dispute will be handled in the courts there.
